Moab.

This past weekend we went on a little getaway.
Moab, Ut.
It is beautiful there. I have never been and I am so glad I did.
We had such a great time with our little family and some friends of ours. Yummy food, good laughs, great weather, fun memories and fun people.
The boys had a blast. Non-stop entertainment. Total BOY trip.
We were able to spend one day on a slick rock trail, fully equipped in the Rhino. Greyson strapped in his carseat. He was so good. Did not even make a peep the entire time! He was just enjoying the "ride".
Brayden LOVED it. We ALL know this goes without saying. He was super excited and even a couple sketchy climbs was squealing saying, "this is kinda dangerous."(while grinning ear to ear)
It was so much fun! This vintage classic was owned by the family we went down with. Baby Blue Dodge Truck. Brayden and his little bud Bridger went for a ride down the crazy Main street to wave at all the people lined up. They gave the occasional "beep.beep." they would all cheer and clap and wouldn't you know it was all boyish shy grins. Ear to Ear.
That night we drove to Main street where vintage cars dragged the streets all night long. We brought our chairs along, the street was packed with people and we watched in amazement at all the incredible cars, all while enjoying an ice cream.
The next day was filled with fun, we went into Arches which was beautiful!! Took in a car show and spent the afternoon swimming and soaking up some warm sunshine.

Needless to say my boys FINALLY wore out by the time we were headed home.

It was a great trip. Good to get away.

Roomies.

My boys are Roomies.
Well, they will be very soon. I wanted to get the boys situated before our new bundle arrives. So a room re-do was in order.
BUNKS! This was also part of Brayden's birthday present as well.
He is thrilled to have the "top bunk". And, occasionally I will catch him just hangin' out up there. It is so cute.
Greyson was equally excited! He would climb up on his bed, kick his feet back and forth and just grin.
Even though this project is not totally finished, there are still a few things I had in mind to do...But a good start anyway.

The gas can was my Pop-Pop's..really old and rusted. love it.

My boys. Roomies. So fun.

5.

My baby is 5.
Where has the time gone?  I am so proud, blessed and honored to have this little boy in my life.   He has brought so much joy into all of our lives. Children are the greatest blessing!  It IS what life is about.

Brayden growing by leaps and bounds.  Kindergarten this fall. WHAT?! His is so smart and asks  a lot of questions which is a good thing.  He has a kind, soft heart.  A pure sweet soul.
I love him more then life itself.  I have been so emotional about this birthday, it is truly a milestone.  I am grateful everyday for him.
He looked in the mirror and said, "yep, I am 5 now...I am really tall."

The BIG 5.
So, to celebrate he wanted an Army party.  Hoo-RAH!!
It was fun to put together and have some of his friends over.  Just a taste of more parties in the future! And, I was so thankful the weather held out, it ended up being a beautiful day!
Thanks to all of our family and friends for making his day extra special.

French Refresher.

Feeling a little bit of the winter blues. I cannot wait for spring to arrive! It is my second favorite time of the year.  Although the weather has been looking up.
I get the itch to open my windows to let some crispy fresh air in. Do some deep spring cleaning and of course fluff the house. I am especially looking forward to visiting some nurseries, wandering through rows of beautiful flowers and deciding what herbs and veggies I will be planting this year.
While I was craving some spring I came across this beautiful blog.
www.frenchlarkspur.blogspot.com
I love the old french rustic style. And it inspired me to do a little "refreshing"...
Her home is fabulous. Her style is fabulous. Simple and Fresh.
I also have been wanting to find an old wood ladder! I fell in love with this and I want one...
Been on the lookout and have seen a few but not wanting to pay a million bucks for it.
And why is it that we have NO good flea markets???!!!
I would die to find one..A really good one...Just the thought of meandering through displays of yummy old things gives me butterflies.
My little "refresher" is nothing like hers but...it inspired me and gave me a lift!
A few crisp accessories. A good reminder that spring is coming and to help lighten and brighten the winter drab. This fabulous old crate was found by none other then my hubby.  Of all places he was elk hunting and came across it abandoned, filled with vintage coke, ginger ale and lemonade glass bottles.
A gauzy white cloth and burlap for layering.  And one of my favorite things, a rusty wire basket.
I also came across this vintage hand embroidered napkin..."Hot Biscuits" it made me smile, so naturally it had to come home with me.
While on my hunt for a mini spring "lift" this light rug with a cream trellis pattern now grounds my dining table and some new carved side chairs on either side.  Perfect for taking a moment and soaking up some warm sunshine in the afternoon.

And, I  picked up this old curved cane back sitting chair for a steal...It was brown and bleh. So with a fresh coat of creamy paint he is now tucked by my fireplace. Ready for a good book.
Until then ladies...wishing for the golden rays of spring sunshine, crispy air, and Spring Refreshment. Cheers!
