Ahhh..TROUBLE!!

He is making motor sounds!! Look at those lips....

So most 2 year olds like cartoons, disney movies and a good bedtime story...Not my Brayden, I think that he is an 18 year old trapped in a 2 year old body. Sure Brayden does enjoy those things but his most FAVORITE thing in the world is anything with a LOUD motor and is DANGEROUS!!! If any of you are familiar with the show Nitro Circus...it is this crazy show where these guys do wicked tricks, flips and stupid stunts on anything that has wheels...and my guy loves, loves, LOVES it! This is what Dad and Brayden watch before bedtime ( I know probably not the best thing) but he is glued to the T.V. It is the funniest thing to watch. Even when it cuts to commercial, he flips out because he thinks it's over. So we have resorted to T-Voing the show and fast forwarding thru commercials...He turns to us and laughs then says OHHHHH, claps his hands, he is sooooo excited when they do the silly stunts. But what really made me think I am in for it is when I caught him pretending he was revvin' up his motorcycle, running through the kitchen, falling and rolling over like he just crashed from one of the crazy stunts they pull... I have a strong feeling I have a future motocross junkie on my hands!

HE'S IS ONLY 2!!!! HELP ME!!! :)

One of his favorite stunts...hydroplane! He says Awhhhhh!!!

But it is fun to be able to watch this little guy be so interested in such a crazy thing...he's all BOY!

Kept saying "Uh-oh"...he knows it's in the STREET...HELP!!

Grampy with the fishin' game...

Ohhh yes, the chocolate bunny....

Vrooom, yet another darling truck!

Ahh...Just woke up, nice hair huh?!

So I know that I am a little late posting my Easter pictures but, here they are...We had such a wonderful day, perfect weather and family to share it with. Brayden did get a visit from the Easter bunny three times.... :) He loved his "Buzz" kite as you can tell from his face, completely dazed by it...Baskets galore!!! We went and visited both grandparents which was a delight. And Brayden even got to feed the ducks that have found a home in my parents yard, it seemed fitting for spring! I am so glad that warmer weather has finally arrived, my guy has been patiently waiting for Mr. Sunshine to share it's rays... I am truly grateful for my little man....I love this precious boy more than anything in the world, he makes my world a beautiful warm place to be.....

Oh to be TWO!!

Here we are...

Lookin' Hot!

Whoa....Those are some big teeth!

Mommy and the Birthday Boy

Diggin'

Our little man is TWO!! And what a fun few days it has been...April 9th was Brayden's big day so Mom and Dad took him to Thanksgiving Point to see one of his most favorite things in the world...DINOSAURS!! We had such a great time, we took in an IMAX movie in 3-D, and walked around with the large dinosaurs. He was so excited to see all the bones and to dig around in the sand...

Then~Saturday was the big party with all of our family! Brayden was spoiled once again with a large digger that moves, and lights up..He will have a ball with the new "truck". Also, he received his first remote control car that flips back and forth, finally something he can control!! A bug vacuum for the warm summer days ahead, to explore outside, books and...Mom and Dad got him his first 3-Wheeler, of course motor sounds, lights and wheels were all part of the package.... He had such a wonderful birthday, surrounded by the people he loves the most. We are to grateful to have the family that we do, they all do so much for us, We love you so much!

We also had a pinata...Which didn't last very long :)

Dig, Dig, DIG!!

3-Wheeler
Dino cake....Compliments of So Cupcake....He loved it!

Brayden has just grown by leaps and bounds, I cannot believe he is two. Where does the time go? His interests are anything that has a motor, wheels, and is usually dangerous for a two year old to play with. He loves his Mom, Dad and doggy and always gives us lots of loves and tender kisses. I cherish holding my little boy in my arms because I know it won't be for long he will be too big for me to do so... We love you Brayden with all our hearts, you have brought so much joy to our lives, and are so blessed to have you here.... Happy Birthday Skittle!!

Little Gym!!

Izzie...so cute!

Thursdays are a day we look forward to every week. It's Little Gym Day...This place is a dream come true for toddlers, they can climb, explore, play and bounce off the walls till their hearts content. Best part is... they crash for a long nap afterward :)

I am sure that most of you know what this is all about but they teach different strength building skills, coordination, and many other valuable things they will need in the future. They sing songs, play with balls, hula-hoops and a BIG parachute (one of his favorites) are all part of the class. Brayden also has a special friend in his class Izzie, she is a doll and it has been fun to see them learn together!

It has been great watching him learn, try and succeed at all of these different challenges!!

Go Buddy!

Just My Style....

This sideboard will always be a favorite of mine. It is so functional and I love the handpainted worn look. Not only can I serve off of this piece but, I have so much storage space as well. I can keep all of my linens and large serving pieces in one convenient place. Handpainted pieces add interest and are so simple to work into any room or style.

So much of decorating is about finding and loving the unexpected. Varied painted furniture creates a fun and eclectic style. Blending all of the mixed painted pieces together can give you such a unique look. I love old, vintage worn furniture. These sort of pieces tend to have so much character about them.

This sideboard is a new piece but the worn distressing and glazing over it makes it look like it's been around for a while. The piece is a good size and scale for my kitchen/dining area. It fills up most of the wall creating a large focal point. Also~ the fact that it sits taller then my dining table draws your eye up, and by adding a different height this helps with visual interest. You want to be mindful of the different heights your furniture pieces may have. You don't want all your pieces to be all at one level resulting in the room looking boring and flat. Mixing varied heights is crucial to a well visual pleasing room.

Remember it's the small simple details that can make all the difference in your space. It is those details that give a room soul...

Picture Window

This is my latest project...I had collaborated some fun old pictures of my Granny that she had tucked away in a drawer. I love all of these pictures, they really tell the personality of my Gran. Most of them are of her laughing, dancing, and having such a great time with my Pop-pop. They were the life of every party! Always dressed to the "nines" and ready to have a great time. I also found some pictures of my great-great grandparents holding my great grandma when she was just a baby. I had a fun time going through all of these pictures, family history is so important knowing where your family came from and keeping those memories and family traditions alive. I wanted to be able to display ALL the pictures and make a big statement, so instead of individually framing every picture I attached the pictures to an old window.

I also wanted consistency in the photos. When grouping lots of pictures together make sure you have a common thread tying them all together. For example; all photos could be black and white, or sepia. Or, when it comes to framing, keep your frames down to 1 or 2 colors. I wanted my favorite pictures to be seen. So I added a pop of color to a couple of the pictures, creating something unexpected in the grouping. I also put them close together so all the pictures would flow.

This project was a lot of fun but, I still have to put a couple finishing touches on it. Of course it needs a tassel hanging from the hardware :) (my Gran had one I found and it will be perfect) Still working on it But~ I couldn't wait to post...

BIG BOY!!

It has been a while since I have blogged.... too long! Just a little update on our guy. He will be turning 2 (can you believe it?) Where does the time go???!!! He has had two big accomplishments this past week. Brayden does not say much, just a couple words, but he said "Please" oh...I was so excited! I know it is a small word but we have been waiting for him to talk for so long, when he says it, it sounds more like "cheese" but~ we understand.
And...last week Mom was getting ready in the bathroom and all of a sudden Brayden starting patting the potty and grabbing at his diaper. I asked if he needed to go potty...He is so smart.
By the time that I got his pj's off and the diaper I started to lift him over the potty he had already peed all over the floor. But I didn't care...Whatta BIG BOY! I was thrilled....He probably was thinking, DUH MOM...Hellloooo I need to potty! I am so thrilled! Needless to say we got him his own potty and he is doing well. Hopefully potty training will be a breeze...No more diapers!! YEA!!!
